Party of Five: Episode Guide

"Party of Five" was a critically acclaimed drama that told the story of five young people who were abandoned by their parents when they were fatally killed in a car accident caused by a drunk driver. The show follows the teen drama path, but often times was much more than that. It showed a twenty-four year old, often irresponsible brother, have to become responsible for keeping his family together safe from social workers who might want to tear them apart. The older four siblings would take care of their baby brother, Owen in shifts. Even though, it was very dramatized at times, there was enough edges of reality, to make it feel real to the audience. The show's character's were as followed, Charlie played by Matthew Fox, whose character has already been briefly described in the intro. Then there is Bailey, the second oldest brother, he often takes care of the house and the family easily, but often makes reckless decision when it comes to decisions involving himself and his love life. He is played by Scott Wolf. Then, there is Julia, she might be the hardest to describe. She is a writer, and very smart. She tends to get into the complicated relationships. She is played by Neve Campbell. Yes, she is the girl from the "Scream" films. Then, there is Claudia, she is the youngest sister, and her special talent is that for much of the series she is a very talented violinist. She is played by Lacey Charbert. I think she is my favorite character's because of the way she is portrayed by Charbert. She is and was a very talent actress. Owen, for most of the show, is just a minor character because of the nature of his age. He is apart of the family unit, so he must be described. There is a cast of secondary characters that interact with the core characters. The most notable or popular, of these, is Sarah, who is Bailey's girlfriend, she is played by Jennifer Love Hewitt. This role and show, made Love a major teen idol, and actress. This show stands out from the pack because of the performances from the talented cast. Every episode is meant to make the viewer think, and most of all, feel. The show ran for six seasons, from 1994-2000. Seasons 1-3, are available for streaming on Amazon.com. Seasons 4-6 have yet to be released on DVD.
